July 16-17, 2005

Inflating the envelope with a big fan before lighting the burner to fill it the rest of the way.

Jeanne and Olaf just before the burner was lit.

As the balloon rises, the ground crew folds up the tarp the envelope was spread on for inflation.

Looking toward Angel fire from 1000 feet up.

Looking at Eagle Nest Lake from about 1500 ft.

The envelope folded up and ready to be stuffed in its bag. The whole process of stowing the balloon and loading it and the basket on the trailer takes about 15 minutes.

The Ajuua Dreamer, piloted by Tom Gardner and his wife Gladie. Thanks to them and to Resort Properties for giving Jeanne and Olaf the chance to take their first flight.
